
Jazmine was raised and born within Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam her mother is an ex-backing singer in the band Philadelphia International Records. When she was five years old, old, her father landed an appointment as the curator at the city's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family moved into the historical landmark. In 2005 she graduated from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts with an alumna of the vocal music department. Sullivan began singing in the children's chorus as a contralto, before joining the adult chorus a couple of years afterwards. The exposure Sullivan had to secular music was not extensive at first "I performed solo at the church, and I was asked to sign to an evangelical label when I was 11, but I was not at the point of doing that," she recalls. At that time, McDonald's held a contest for children in large cities. I had the opportunity to sing "Accept what God allows" during The show Showtime At the Apollo. And the crowd responded very well. The singer performed along with Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday party at 13. Sullivan made her first signing with Jive Records when she was 15. It was her first time signing with Jive Records at the age fifteen. She recorded an entire album. The album didn't get released. Sullivan was eventually dropped from the label. They maintained a friendship with Missy Elliott who wrote and recorded a number of the tracks for her debut project, such as the brash single "Backstabbers" which was produced by Timbaland and written by Elliott.
